As
company director Clyde ODonnell has a long history in the
hospitality Industry and has travelled extensively in Australia and overseas since
1981.
Clyde
has been a Guide at Mt Buffalo National Park and a Professional
Nature Photographer for more than 20 years and has over 1000 publications
to date. With this background the tours (Formally Himalayan &
Australian Nature Tours) were established in 1995.
Our objective was
to offer a totally unique style of soft adventure for most age groups. While enjoying
some of the most spectacular scenery on earth we can stay in comfortable homes
and lodges and experience the renowned hospitality of the gentle Nepalese people
and be hosted by a different family each night of the trek. We are unaware of
any other company offering this type of tour and, with many repeat customers,
we will be able to offer our brand of specialised service in the future.
Aus
Global Soft Adventure makes a point of running tours in quite a different manner
to other companies. Even before we began our operations in 1995 Clyde ODonnell
made several visits to Nepal to research many aspects of Soft Adventure Travel
in the Himalayas. We soon became aware that home
and lodge facilities for trekkers were improving at a fast pace. Rooms becoming
more comfortable, meal menus and the standard of food have now improved considerably.
Solar showers and western toilets are now common in most villages.
