Our
Rhododendron Tour involves approximately
10 half days of walking at your own pace and 2 rest days and we spend most of
the first 5 days walking down the Kali Ghandaki Valley. Almost all other tour
operators, we are aware of, walk this tour in 8 days. We should also mention most
other tour companies sleep in tents. We have recently introduced a shorter 15
day return tour involving 8 half days of walking. This tour is tailored for the
more active hiker with less time available but still takes in most of the highlights.
The timing of our
tours has been given special consideration also. We mostly trek in Nepal in Spring
and Autumn to take advantage of not only the abundance of wildflowers but to walk
in the most ideal weather. We are also responsible on our Annapurna
Sanctuary trek avoiding the avalanch season and take the regulation rest days
and precautions when trekking at high altitudes. Our staff are trained to recognize
the symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness.
Our
porters not only carry you main pack, we have also trained them to do basic
massage, greatly appreciated by hundreds of our customers at the end of a days
walk. At times, they may insist on holding your hand on uneven parts of the trail.
Aus Global Soft Adventure and our customers are very fond of our team of friendly
porters. We have financed most of them to learn a fair amount of English. We make
sure they are properly clothed and are always accommodated in lodges during the
trek. Your Australian guide pays your porter direct, not through a middleman or
an agency like other companies.
Each
time we trek in Nepal we chat to other trekkers we meet from other countries around
the world. Throughout the year and prior to any Tour of Nepal we are in contact
with our Nepalese Porters (who mostly live in mountain villages). We also contact
our Hotel Managers in Pokhara and Kathmandu, a member of the Nepalese Tourism
commission in Kathmandu and the Australian Embassy in Kathmandu and only on their
knowledge of events and conditions in Nepal do we decide to run a tour.
Aus Global Soft
Adventure has recently established 12 day Tours in both Sabah
and Sarawak (Malaysian Borneo). As with all
our Tours we have gone to considerable effort to find the most rewarding highlights
in Sabah and Sarawak. We have combined Wildlife Adventures with Hiking, Snorkelling,
Fishing, great accommodation and excellent Malaysian cuisine and much more.
AGSA staff are
constantly assessing conditions before and during the tour, including weather
and political events. Therefore on occasions our lodgings, transport or daily
itinerary may change.
