Royal Chitwan National Park (Optional 3 day package)

Our visit to Royal Chitwan National Park is certainly one of the highlights of our Nepal experience. There are 3 separate resorts Aus Global Soft Adventure choose to stay at, 2 inside the park and 1 just outside. Each one offers a slightly different experience. The resorts are similar to African style safari resorts with villa type accommodation.

Elephant rides through the jungle in search of wildlife are very rewarding. We may spend up to 5 hours on the elephants over 2 days. We usually see Indian Rhino, Sloth Bear, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Sambar Deer, Hog Deer, Black Faced Languar Monkeys, Mongoose and many beautiful birds.

There are many other wildlife in the park including the famous Bengal Tiger and on our last visit we saw leopards on each day of the tour. Birdwatching is popular with some 400 species of birds found in the park, many are beautifully coloured. Hornbills, Peacocks, Flycatchers and Kingfishers to name a few.

The local Park Rangers are experts on the wildlife and take us on guided nature walks and on boat trips at some resorts. Being a tropical region we often see spectacular butterflies and may also see Fire Flies at night. The resorts provide comfortable beds, 2 per room with showers and most have fans.

The resorts offer excellent meals and each has a bar (drinks are not included in the package). We normally bus to the park to experience the Terai District first hand and we return to Kathmandu with a 30 minute flight.
